More than likely you have friends who have been in your life for many years or very close family members who have been with you all your life. Guess what, these people already know you stutter and have continued to love you and talk with you. That is your "Safe Zone"!!! Feel free to stutter as much as you want when you are with them, I suggest you do. Let yourself go, don't get nervous or stressed, and don't try to use word substitution. That is the best time for you to practice what you have learned in speech therapy. Relax, be yourself, and just speak the way you were meant to. Have no reservations or fear of embarrassment, after all that is your "Safe Zone."
