What in the world is an AB'er? That is the eternal question! Well, if you were an AB'er you would know, therefore I am going to assume you are not. To make a long story short, an AB'er is a member of Active Bass. Active Bass is a virtual community dedicated to the practicing bassist; whether you are a beginner, professional, or simply curious about the low end. It doesn't matter if you are an expert, a studio musician, a band member, or just a person who enjoys experimenting with the bass, you are welcome to join the AB community. There you will find lessons, reviews, hints & tips, and most importantly cyber friends with whom to share a common bond . . . The Bass.

By now many AB'ers can say that they are internationally known because our virtual friends are from all over the globe, from many different backgrounds, religions, genders, ages, etc. I, for one, am surprisingly amazed at the cyber friendships I have cultivated at AB. Most likely I will never meet 99.9% of my AB brothers and sisters in the flesh, but the possibilities are great. I am sure that, no matter what country I visit, I will have a friend to share a drink, a cigar, stories, and bass lines. Heck, you want to know a sad fact, I think I have more friends in the AB community than in the community were I physically reside.
